Sia:
A Study In Dark Perfection

My name is Sia. I'm 26, live in LA, and spend entirely too much time drinking wine and screwing around on the internet. I'm not a vampire, I'm not wiccan, I don't have fake bats or spider webs in my apartment. I own not one mirror shaped like a coffin. The Crow was a good movie but not good enough to buy Brandon Lee action figures. I don't write morbid poetry and my short stories resemble very personal, very scattered journal entries more than anything else. I can handle Switchblade Symphony in only small doses and own only two Bauhaus CD's. I go grocery shopping in slips and stilletos, but without wearing any makeup at all. I love vinyl and latex but am wholeheartedly *not* into BDSM. I have a real job, although at times I push the envelope with my attire and wish I worked for $5.50 an hour at record store or goth shop. I own too many candles and too many wrought iron candle holders, but they aren't my only sources of light. I very rarely go out, although I'd do so a little more if I hadn't blown almost twelve months' salary on clubs in 1997.

I suppose you could say that I eschew most everything gothic, but my eyemakeup, clothes, and nasty attitude toward people who *aren't* gothic force me to at least somewhat align myself with this particular scene. I agreed to be featured here for three reasons: one, I was flattered by the offer, especially after seeing the girls who share the space with me; two, the editor seems like a nice guy, and three, I'm a link whore. All in all, I suppose, I'm not necessarily very interesting. I'm in a bad mood tonight so I think I'm even a little less interesting than I usually am. Sometimes I do wish I were more intriguing, but then I think of all the work that it takes to be such and I settle for being a semi-attractive piece of eye candy.
