The First Enchantment
When grass did yellow and leaves were red,
He made a hidden, sacred bed,
And all the stars did then unite,
On that, most wonderous of all nights.
The stars looked down on us with awe,
The moon cast spells above us all,
Creatures restless would stir the litter,
Around us, opulent forest-glitter.
On a palette soft of art and splendor
Was lain the works of humanity and wonder
The breeze moved listless across the land,
As my love was silent and touched my hand.
Bright was the sky that outshone the night,
Bright was the bond about to take flight,
While faeries of Fall wove about us our spell,
The orchard promised to never tell.
